Released...

Today, I was released from the Primary presidency in our ward. I have very mixed feelings about it. I have served in the presidency for nearly three years, ever since our ward was created in 2005. On top of that, I have served in the Primary of different wards nearly the entire time we've been married - for about 8 years total! I love the children of our ward and have had such a wonderful time serving them. Working with the children has been such a blessing in my life over the last few years. It is so easy to feel the Spirit in Primary. It's amazing to watch these children grow and develop their own testimonies - it has totally strengthened my testimony as well. I have been their teacher, but really, they are the ones that have taught me. I think that often children have an easier time feeling our Heavenly Father's love and having faith. I have learned a lot from these children, and I'm really going to miss it! At the same time, I think it will be good for me to get downstairs and meet some of the adults in the ward. I literally don't know anyone in the ward who doesn't have a child under the age of 11. My new calling is on the activities committee, which I think will be fun and force me to get to know more people. I'm helping with the Ward campout this weekend, so I'm going to jump right in!

I know what you mean about Primary. The kids in there are great. That's all I've ever done too (besides a 2 year stint in the Stake PRIMARY.) Activities committee sounds perfect for you! You are SUPER fun and will be fantastic. Good luck with your campout!

I have to agree, primary is the best. Over the last eight years I have spent a lot of time in Young Women, which was great, but was called into Primary in January. We definately learn so much from the young kids.

Good luck with the campout this weekend, I am sure you'll do a fantastic job!
