This year, Santa Claus sent a special gift to us around Thanksgiving time. It was one of his scouting elves, who watched to see if we were being nice or naughty, and then reported back to Santa every night. The kids named the elf "Herbie" and he really helped them be so good the weeks before Christmas. Each morning, after he had visited the North Pole to report to Santa, he would be hiding in a new place. The kids thought it was so fun to hunt for Herbie every morning.
Christmas Eve, we attended the annual Waite Christmas party. It was a lot of fun, with lots of friends and yummy food.
We then went home and opened one present - pajamas!

And I totally slacked the next morning and only got ONE picture. I can't believe it. We took a lot of video though. Here is Avery with her favorite present, her American Girl doll she named Lucy she got from Santa. Mom and Dad gave the kids a trip to Disney World, scheduled for the end of January.
Avery had a Christmas piano concert scheduled for right before Christmas, but it was postponed because of the snowstorm. She played "Jolly Old St. Nicholas" and did a great job!

On New Years Eve, we had the Waites and the Christensens over to party. We have spent several New Years with them, and this one was as fun as ever. The parents had some serious "Killer Bunnies" going on, the big girls watched movies up in Avery's room, and the little boys did their best to annoy their big sisters.
