He got a new, bigger bike for his birthday.
And he had a birthday party with all his best buddies
Isla turned 1!
Avery turned 8!

She had a "late-over" birthday party with all her little girlfriends.
This awesome cake was made for Avery by my dear friend Deanna. She's an amazing cake decorator.
Easter!
Avery finished up another soccer season with "The West End Girls."
Avery got her ears pierced. It was a scary experience!

She lost another tooth. This picture is a scary experience.
Scott competed in another triathlon, this one was in Annapolis.

Donovan graduated from preschool.
The wonderful Ms. Jeanne:
And Ms. Marta, he loved her too.
I went on a weekend trip to NYC with some of my girlfriends. While there, I had the unfortunate experience of a kidney stone and ended up in a sketchy NY hospital. The highlight was being really drugged out for the bus ride back to DC.
For Avery's 8th birthday, Scott took her on a Daddy-daugter trip to New York. They visited the American Girl store and the Empire State Building, took a limo and ate lots of yummy treats.

Donovan played his first year of t-ball.

His coach was pretty lame, so super cousin Steven stepped up to help out. Donovan loved having Steven at practices and games.
Avery performed in another dance recital.
We traveled to Utah for a family reunion (Scott's side). While we were there, Avery was baptized by her daddy. (July 3rd, 2011)

These are some of Avery's friends who have moved away from us. It was so nice that they were able to come to Avery's baptism. She has been friends with some of them since birth.
With her Lyman cousins.
I got to catch up with some of my favorite girls (and yes, I am pregnant here. That happened this year too).
Hacking Family Reunion

Us with Scott's Grandma, Winifred Hacking. All the above are her children/grandchildren.

I got to catch up with even more of my favorite girls!
We spent a lot of time at the pool with friends over the summer.
We moved into our new house! (I guess we need to get some pictures of that!) About a week after moving in, Hurricane Irene moved in and knocked down a 60 foot oak in the backyard. Thank goodness for nice neighbors to help out.
We spend part of a week (thanks to Irene) at the Outer Banks with friends.
Avery and Donovan started their new school. Avery is in third grade this year.

Donovan is in kindergarten.

We've had a LOT of rain and storms since we moved into our new house, and a lot of power outages to go with it. Luckily, our kids are pretty good at entertaining themselves.
Donovan has been playing soccer this fall, on a team called the Green Dragons. He loves it!
