What a mess!

We are getting a new roof. If it isn't bad enough that they start working at 6:30 in the morning, this afternoon, it started raining. I heard them hurrying around trying to cover things up, but apparently they didn't do a very good job. Donovan was taking his nap, and all of a sudden, I heard him screaming in his room. I ran in and he and his bed were soaked. There was a hole in our ceiling, and dirty brown water was pouring (not dripping) out of it. 3 calls and 6 1/2 hours later, they returned to fix the hole in the roof. It's still not fixed on the inside, but at least it's not leaking anymore.

Beds and sleep

Avery fell out of bed last night. We removed her guardrail about a month ago, and each night, I was sure she would fall out. She moves around more in her sleep than anyone I've ever seen. She surpised me by not falling out for a whole month. Just when I relax and think that she's good, she immediately falls right out. I quit putting pillows next to her bed a few nights ago. She didn't cry though, just sat up, dazed and confused.

Donovan is finally getting to be a good sleeper. When he's tired, I ask him if he wants to go night-night, and if he is, he starts blowing kisses to everyone. If he isn't, he starts to shake his head no-no-no-no-no. He has a special blanket, and still uses his binkie. The minute we hand him those, he puts his head on our shoulder or chest and snuggles for a few minutes. When he is done, he sits up and pushes himself away, we walk over to his crib, he dives into his bed, and is usually out for about 12 hours. Finally!!!! After more than a year of getting up at night, we have been getting some sleep!

Moving away....

Our dear friends, the LaClares moved to Idaho Falls last week. We are so sad about it. Avery and Merritt (their daughter) have been friends pretty much since birth. Last week, in the build up to the move, Avery would say everyday "Merritt is moving in THREE days, and tomorrow it will be TWO days." It was so sad. We had a party for them the Saturday before they left and it was a lot of fun. I'm posting some pictures of the kids at the party, and also after church last Sunday.

This is my second attempt at a blog. Somehow, I either forgot my password, or misentered it the first time, so I can't log into my old post. There was only one post on there anyway, so no biggie...
